EXTREME
ENVIRONMENT DIORAMA CRITERIA
1.
Create a model of an extreme environment. Use clay, pipe
cleaners, wood, cardboard, legos, colored paper or other art items to build
your scene. The entire inside of the box needs to be covered. Include details
that show how this environment is considered extreme. (ie- High altitude
showing lack of resources, extreme cold…)
2.
The scene in your
diorama must show how humans use technology to help them survive. You must have
at least 3 examples of technology used in this environment. (Even simple wooden goggles with slits cut
out is an example of technology used by the Inuit to prevent snow blindness.)
3. You must include a detailed,
written description of each type
of
technology describing:
· Who
invented it. (specific person, organization
or group)
· What
materials are used to make it.
· Why and
when it was invented (for a specific mission,
because someone was injured or died)
4.Prepare
a 2-3 minute explanation of your scene to present your diorama to others.
